We are looking to recruit a Project Manager who will be required to support bids and deliver projects. The role requires flexibility, working across the business, being able to scale and adapt project management processes to meet each project’s requirements, and deliver to quality, timeframe and budget constraints, with the requirement to work on multiple projects in parallel (dependent on size and complexity).

The Project Manager will have full accountability for delivery of bids and projects to programme, budget, scope and quality and will report to the South East Regional Director and the Project Directors for the relevant projects.

Our ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or have equivalent job experience, ideally with a civil engineering or development planning background. A formal project management qualification, (e.g. PRINCE 2 Practitioner or APM PMQ) is essential. They will be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work with individuals across many disciplines and different levels of management. They will possess exceptional planning, organisational and time management skills, along with the ability to manage competing resources and priorities.

 

They will have experience in:

  • Working in the engineering consultancy industry and involving the delivery of multidisciplinary services; leading and managing teams including external specialist subcontractors / consultants.
  • Working with a range of clients (public and private and both UK and International) to deliver projects at various stages of the project programme (from inception to construction).
  • Working effectively with clear communication to manage expectations of internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Managing quality and commercial aspects of bids and projects, including a range of terms and conditions (industry standard and bespoke client).
  • Managing project budgets and programmes, including effective change control.

 

They will also be able to demonstrate their ability to:

  • Deliver tender proposals and projects to time, budget, quality, and commercial targets.
  • Manage projects at different stages in the delivery lifecycle to meet client requirements and provide required deliverables.
  • Comply with required quality, health safety, legislative and commercial governance standards.
  • Use the Microsoft Office suite of software (including Word, Excel and Power Point and Project) proficiently.
  • Communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders using excellent written and oral communications; including managing expectations and providing clear project progress reports and updates.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, opportunities and apply lesson learned.
  • Work with Team Managers to agree technical resource requirements in line with various project priorities.
