‘Streets for a Healthy Life’ – A technical companion to ‘Building for a Healthy Life’

from £200pp

This course looks at the recently published technical companion to ‘Building for a Healthy Life’, which is a design assessment tool and guide for new and growing neighbourhoods.

Produced by PJA and Design for Homes on behalf of Homes England ‘Streets for a Healthy Life’ provides examples of UK streets that meet the requirements for ‘healthy streets’ set out in ‘Building for a Healthy Life’.

This course will guide you through the use and application of ‘Building for a Healthy Life’ and ‘Streets for a Healthy Life’ providing best practice case studies that have been proven successful and which incorporate patterns of development and materials that should be transferable to multiple locations.

This course will break down the composition of successful streets by identifying their dimensions, geometry and choice of materials. This is especially relevant now that many adoption authorities are having to make difficult choices about what they can afford to maintain.
