We provide a technically-focused service to assist prospective purchasers, property owners and asset managers in understanding the engineering constraints and opportunities associated with land development.

Land acquisition and development requires the consideration of a range of environmental, engineering and construction risks.

We provide expert review and support across a number of technical fields at the early stages of a project, including prospective purchase, pre-allocation and pre-planning stages.

The PJA team has many years’ experience of providing multidisciplinary inputs on development schemes and generating engineering-led appraisals that assist in defining cost-abnormals, constraints and overall development viability.

PJA’s in-house team provides early stage review and opinion across a range of disciplines including: transport and access, flood risk and drainage, gradients, site levels, plausible earthworks requirements, existing utilities constraints and the implications of poor ground and contamination.

This advice continues through the design process where, through collaboration with our fellow consultants, we provide our clients with land development and engineering master planning support.

We find that early engagement during the planning process helps to identify issues and constraints that can be mitigated and minimised to help reduce risks.
