PJA provided transport planning services to support a successful application for 239 residential dwellings and 1,472 sqm of flexible commercial and community space on the site of the former Wycombe Gas Works at Lily’s Walk, High Wycombe.
A Transport Assessment and Framework Travel Plan were prepared as part of the commission. The Transport Assessment included a full audit of the accessibility of the site by sustainable transport modes and set out the principles of access to the site by all road users. Careful consideration was given to connections between the site and existing pedestrian and cycle links.
PJA advised on parking provision with regard to the site’s town centre location and prepared preliminary access design plans using vehicle tracking software to demonstrate that vehicles could safely enter and exit the site.
Travel demand estimates for the proposed development and distribution analysis using the existing High Wycombe Town Centre VISSIM model demonstrated that the proposals will have no significant impact on the surrounding road network.
The model demonstrated that the proposed development access points would operate without significant queuing, and the impact on the surrounding highway network would be negligible.
Lily’s Walk development was granted full planning permission at committee in December 2016.
