This new £5.4 million primary care centre in the Forest of Dean will bring together two existing medical practices that are currently split across three locations.
The purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility will incorporate a dedicated pedestrian and cycle access, EV charging spaces and high-quality cycle parking provision and is targeting a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
The design of the building has been developed by health specialist property company Osmond Tricks, and includes more than 20 new clinical rooms and a minor procedures suite. The aim for the merged practices is to share resources and work more flexibly when they move.
PJA prepared a Transport Statement and Travel Plan to support the planning application. Our work on the Travel Plan included surveys of the existing practice staff to determine existing modes of travel to work and to prompt them to start considering travel options in light of the location of the new primary care centre.
Planning permission was granted in July 2022 and building works are expected to begin in the summer of 2023.
