The team developed a Vissim model to test and analyse two scheme designs, before producing 3D videos and images for consultation.

With the area being a designated Air Quality Management Area (AQMA), the proposals focussed on public realm improvements and the potential for reducing traffic flow.

A calibrated and validated VISSIM model was developed of the existing scenario in the first instance, before the two options were coded in. Results for various network performance parameters were collected and fed into the Public Consultation material. These included delays, journey times, queues and air quality.

The VISSIM models were prepared for high-quality consultation videos by inputting VisWALK elements (pedestrian areas, routes and inputs), before being exported into 3D Studio Max for final rendering.
