PJA was appointed in 2013 by St Modwen Developments Ltd to provide all transport planning inputs to their promotion of land at Long Marston in Warwickshire for the development of 550 dwellings plus a one-form entry Primary School.

The proposals constituted a further phase of an earlier consented development now known as ‘Meon Vale’. The project required the preparation of a detailed Transport Assessment, PARAMICS modelling of highway improvements in Stratford Town Centre, plus the design and testing of additional off-site highway mitigation.

A detailed Public Transport package was also devised, building on the successful implementation of a new bus service associated with the previous consent.  PJA led the contract negotiations directly with the bus operator and commissioned the service on behalf of St Modwen.

PJA worked closely with the highway and planning authority to secure a recommendation for approval. PJA Director Nigel Millington appeared at the Planning Committee and the scheme was subsequently granted planning consent.

PJA has subsequently been retained by St Modwen Developments to advise on potential further phases of development, and by St Modwen homes to prepare all the detailed designs for the primary highway and drainage infrastructure.

The geo-environmental team is also retained to advise on remediation across the site.
