PJA have helped secure planning permission for the relocation and expansion of Alfreton Park Community Special School, an existing all-through Special School catering for pupils aged 2 to 19 years with a variety of special educational needs.

In 2017, Derbyshire County Council committed over £12m to build a new school, which included demolition of the existing school premises in Alfreton Park and provision of a new school building on an adjacent site for 105 pupils, to meet the existing and future needs of Alfreton Park Community Special School.

Working with Derbyshire County Council and Curl la Tourelle Head Architecture, PJA prepared a Transport Statement which analysed the site to develop a bespoke trip generation which helped the Planning Authority understand the transport and highways impact of the development.
