PJA, the place-led transport planning, engineering and environmental consultancy has opened new offices in Edinburgh and Leeds and welcomed two new directors to the team. 

Newly appointed directors Neil McAlpine and Richard Ellam will lead the Edinburgh and Leeds offices respectively.  Both Neil and Richard bring with them decades of experience and a shared commitment to delivering transport solutions that support sustainable, inclusive, and people-focused places. 

This strategic move underscores PJA’s commitment to enhancing its regional presence, fostering closer client relationships, and driving growth in these regions. 

Neil brings over 20 years of experience in transport planning and engineering, gained across both academic and consultancy sectors working for LUC and Cundall. His professional ethos focuses on creating vibrant places that support economic viability, environmental responsibility, and equal access for all users. His appointment marks an exciting new chapter for PJA in Scotland.  

Richard brings over 27 years of experience in transport and development planning, gained across both public and private sectors working for Pell Frischmann and i-Transport. He has built a reputation for delivering practical, high-quality transport solutions that unlock development and enhance connectivity. He will lead PJA’s growing development planning presence in the North. 

Neil and Richard’s appointments mark a significant milestone in PJA’s strategic growth, as they continue to expand their reach across the UK and Australia, now with a total of 10 offices.
