Phil Jones will discuss the Gear Change and LTN 1/20 policy and guidance with key figures from housebuilder Taylor Wimpey and Oxfordshire County Council on Monday 9th November, 1-2.30pm.
Phil will be joined by Irina Merryweather, Group Urban Designer at Taylor Wimpey, and Patrick Lingwood, Oxfordshire County Council’s Active Travel Lead, at the free webinar.
Called ‘A Cycling Revolution – Gear Change & LTN-1/20’, it has been organised by the Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire-Milton Keynes (BOB-MK) Urban Design Network. It will be chaired by BOB-MK Chairman and urban designer Jon Rowland.
Launched in March, the Gear Change document sets out the Government’s vision to boost cycling and walking in a bid to tackle health and environmental challenges.
LTN1/20 Cycle Infrastructure Design is the accompanying guidance for developers, local authorities, and highways engineers on providing high quality, protected cycle routes and infrastructure.
Phil helped produce the guidance with cycle infrastructure expert and PJA colleague Adrian Lord.
Phil said: “In addition to providing an overview of the guidance, I’m looking forward to discussing the benefits and challenges of the new guidance with Irina and Patrick. This is set to be a really interesting webinar.”
