It has been a busy year so far with no less than 12 fantastic new people joining the team. Our new colleagues are based across our UK offices and range from graduate right up to director level.
With specialisms including transport planning, GIS and flood risk and drainage, we are delighted to have our new starters on board to help respond to growing levels of client work.

Birmingham
John Myatt, Associate Director – Transport Planning
Previously at Birmingham City Council, John will lead and grow our public sector transport planning offer in the Midlands, to meet growing client demand following the launch of the government’s post-Covid Levelling up and Build Back Better initiatives.
Andrew Nixon, Associate Director – Engineering
Previously at WSP, Andrew leads our Birmingham Civil Engineering Team, primarily focussing on Section 278 access junctions and primary highway infrastructure. He advises developers, designers, planners and local authorities on local and national projects.
Alison Caldwell, Associate – Engineering
Alison is a Chartered Civil Engineer and joins from WSP. She has extensive experience in flood risk and sustainable water management, drainage design, green-blue infrastructure, integrated water management, flood risk mitigation and flood modelling in the UK and internationally.
Phoebe Ryding, Flood Risk and Drainage – Engineer
Phoebe has joined from WSP and specialises in the design of sustainable drainage strategies working closely with Lead Local Flood Authorities and SuDS Approval Bodies.
Shannon Connolly, Consultant – Transport Planning
Previously at Hub Transport Planning, Shannon produces transport assessments and statements, travel plans, junction modelling and access design for developments ranging from residential, commercial and regeneration schemes to education and religious sites.
Emma O’Kane, Senior Accounts Assistant
Emma has over 17 years’ experience within the finance industry and assists with the preparation of accounts.
Cambridge
Mike Salter, Director
Mike has joined from Mott McDonald and has overall responsibility for our Cambridge office and work in the East of England. Get in touch for transport planning, placemaking and engineering advice.

Rebecca is a highway engineer and transport planner based in our London office. She has over ten years’ experience in the sustainable transport industry, and has worked within the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.

Catriona Swanson, Associate – Transport Planning
Previously at Arup and Salford City Council, Catriona advises public and private sector clients on cycling and walking schemes as well as our wider expertise in designing better places.

Brian Norman, GIS Manager
Brian has joined from global engineering firm Jacobs and has over 20 years’ experience in the capture, analysis, and integration of spatial data within transport, water and environment projects.
Claire Harrison, Associate – Transport Planning
Award-winning Claire joins us from Stuart Michael Associates and has over 16 years in the transport planning sector across a variety of developments. She advises on transport assessments, transport statements, travel plans and supports projects through the planning process.
Emily Daffern, Graduate Consultant – Transport Planning
Emily recently graduated from Newcastle University with a BA (Hons) in Geography, which focussed on sustainable development data analysis.
