It’s been a year since we set up our newest office in the heart of the high-value Cambridge Cluster. The city, buoyed by its well-connected location and strong links to London, is crucial to the UK’s economy and its international competitiveness.
Local government partners have secured significant Government funding for transport and other investment to further support the growth of Cambridge, and our Cambridge team is front and centre of all the action.
Our local team are providing transport planning, engineering and placemaking expertise across a wide range of projects and our first year has seen significant growth in PJA’s client base in Cambridgeshire and the east of England.
Our portfolio of work is varied and diverse from supporting clients with expertise on planning applications, providing transport strategy advice to public bodies, and delivering Business Cases for investment in a range of transport initiatives.
Reflecting the diverse nature of the local and regional economy, our clients are drawn from a range of sectors including:
- The development industry where we are pleased to be providing Brookgate with transport and engineering support on their flagship schemes including at Cambridge North;
- The education sector including advising Queens College on sustainable transport and access issues; and
- The public sector, including the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, for whom we have assessed the economic benefits of public transport measures across the region.
Our Cambridge-based Director, Mike Salter, said: “We are looking forward to continuing the PJA adventure in the East of England including a move to a new office, growing our team over the coming year. It’s been a great first year working with so many clients, and colleagues in other supporting professions, and I am excited to see what the next chapter here will bring.”

Mike has more than 25 years’ experience in transport planning including development-related transport assessments, business case production, strategy development, modelling and traffic engineering. He has appeared as expert witness at a number of inquiries.
