PJA were appointed to support East Suffolk Council with transport planning, highways engineering and placemaking for new leisure-led Garden Neighbourhood, North Felixstowe.

On a site which sits at the north of Felixstowe, the vision is centred around the principles of a safe, inclusive community which is integrated with the existing town and its surrounding countryside. This will be achieved through the enhancement of green infrastructure networks.

Adding value to the development planning through our integration of transport planning, engineering and placemaking, PJA’s key focus has involved quantifying the potential transport demand associated with the proposal and collaborating with others to develop sustainable transport solutions so that the site can integrate seamlessly with the existing area.

The allocation for the site includes up to 2,000 dwellings, as well as a community hub which enables a range of potential features to be created in accessible locations, such as shops, meeting places and medical facilities.

PJA will continue to support the project as the design process progresses into 2024, and potentially beyond.
